Don’t smoke at home when you have kids. Actually, it would be extremely helpful to kick the habit altogether. Children who are exposed to second-hand smoke experience a higher incidence of respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia.

Do not neglect yourself and your needs. Find time every day to relax and re-energize, even if it’s only for a few minutes. The entire family will be much happier.

When taking a road trip it is important to take breaks often so that children do not get too cranky. Although you might prefer to arrive at your destination as soon as possible, your children will not be as fussy if you take your time. Stop at parks, restaurants with play areas, or open grassy areas to let your children run off excess energy during the trip.

Switch out what toys your toddlers play with on occasion so they refrain from getting bored with a particular set. Toddlers will cast away toys that they do not like and play favorites with those they enjoy. Rotation keeps the novelty and newness of your child’s toys alive for a while, so you don’t feel the need to purchase new ones.
